`find`

For example: % find carrot

        /var/qmail/alias/.qmail-carrot-default
        /var/qmail/alias/.qmail-carrot
        /usr/FPP/BOOK/Tests/carrots.t
        /home/mjd/FPP/BOOK/Tests/carrots.t
        /home/mjd/TPC/2002/Presentations/carrots.jpg
        /home/mjd/TPC/2002/Judo-Both/P/carrots.jpg
        /home/mjd/perl/qotw/r008/TESTS/carrot
        /home/mjd/perl/qotw/r008/EXPECTED/carrot
        /home/mjd/misc/carrots
        /home/mjd/misc/carrots/COMMAND
        /home/mjd/misc/carrots/laser.html
        ...

This locates all the files on the system whose names contain carrot

On some systems (including mine) this is called locate
