• Here's one that is a little more useful

        #!/bin/bash

        for dir in *; do
          [ -d $dir ] && pushd $dir && { "$@"; popd; }
        done

• Then you say:

        ineachdir generate-index -s200 

• and it runs generate-index -s200 in each subdirectory
