I became a convert to the cult of the automatic tests about two years ago
I wrote a very complicated Perl module, Tie::File
I had little confidence that I would be able to make it work reliably
The tests were a smashing success
Fewer bugs!
Bugs I fixed didn't recur!
I felt happy and confident!
