In Git jargon a snapshot is called a commit
It records the complete state of your project at the moment you make it
Your project has a repository that contains a complete record of every commit
Every snapshot of every file and every directory is recorded
If you want to see the project as it was last Thursday…
or just before Fred made that ill-advised change…
or on August 22, 2012…
